BLUE BADGE GUIDED WALKS

Take a guided walking tour with a registered Blue Badge Guide and discover what makes present day Ipswich the most vibrant and fast developing centre in the region. Blue Badge Guides help to unlock the past, and can even help give a glimpse of what's to come...

 

Special Guided Walk announced for Saturday 16th Aug - 2.15pm - The Shrine of Our Lady of Grace at Ipswich - The history and the mystery

Discover the connection between a Shrine in Ipswich - one of the most important in the country in Tudor times - and Nettuno, Italy. Discover what links the 12th Century to 21st Century Ipswich and hear about a Royal Wedding in the town in 1297. Walk commences at Ipswich Tourist Information Centre and concludes with tea/coffee and scone at The Sanctuary Restaurant in the St Nicholas Centre - Tickets must be prebooked - £4.50pp

All tours leave from the Tourist Information Centre at 2.15pm (unless otherwise stated) and run for approximately 90 minutes. Tours are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from May to September.

Private tours may be booked by arrangement and are available throughout the year and special children's tours are also available.

Ipswich Tourist Information Centre and the Blue Badge Tourist Guides have produced a brilliant programme of guided walks to help you discover more about the town.

The sessions are fun, informative and ideal for 8-12yr olds. Each tour will last approx 90 minutes. One parent per child may accompany free of charge. Parents not planning to attend must sign a consent form. Numbers are limited to book early at Tourist Information Centre to avoid disappointment. - Tel 01473 258070

HORRIBLE HISTORY OF IPSWICH

Wednesday 23rd July, 6th, 13th and 27th August - 10.30am - £3 - History as you never experienced it before. Discover the horrible things that have happened in Ipswich, diseases, death, executions and worse!

HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THAT BEFORE?

Wednesday 30th July - 10.30am - £3 - A fun walk where you will discover all sorts of things you have probably never seen before [but may walk past every day] including a secret door!

WINDOWS, WALLS AND SO MUCH MORE!

Wednesday 20th August - 10.30am - £3 - Have fun discovering the fantastic variety of architecture in Ipswich and the materials that ingenious architects and builders have used through the ages.
