What is the Ipswich and District Hotels Association?
The IDHA is a constituted organisation with a membership of more than 25 hotels, inns, guest houses and B&B’s in the Ipswich area.
The Association works with other organisations related to tourism in the area to represent the interests of its members and accommodation businesses in general in the area. Through its representation, the Association is held in high regard by related trade organisations, local authorities and agencies.
The members of the Association are very aware of the prospect that the Ipswich area offers for the extension of tourism in East Anglia. The town of Ipswich is developing rapidly with new attractions such as the waterfront area, extensive new residential areas and new business interests. The county of Suffolk is also moving forward with attractions such as the Snoasis project while retaining its original and tranquil English charm. All of this is adding to the attractiveness of the area for holidays and short breaks and it is the Association’s determination to broadcast this abroad and ensure the development of an appropriate accommodation base.
Through its members, the Association is committed to the provision of quality accommodation to guests visiting the area and most of the members are accredited via the common scheme operated by VisitBritain and the AA. See the page about Quality Standards.
The Association does not have direct contact with guests and visitors to the area but advises member establishments on the handling of enquiries, bookings, complaints, etc
