Suffolk Craft Society was formed in 1970 to support and promote the work of designer craftspeople in the county. Today, it has more than 130 members who represent the enormous breadth and vitality of the applied arts in Suffolk.
Visitors to the TIC in St Stephen's Church can see a display of crafts ranging from exquisite jewellery and textiles to ceramics and glass. The showcase is immediately on your left as you enter the building and is just a taster of what the society offers.
Gallery 2 in the Town Hall is packed full of smaller unusual gifts and accessories. The central exhibition displays larger, one-off pieces such as furniture, sculpture and print. You will also find cabinets full of fine crafted jewellery. Prices range from a couple of pounds to several hundreds of pounds, so you are sure to find something that fits the bill.
