Join the Ipswich and District Hotels Association?
The IDHA was formed in the early 1990’s and is a non-profit making trade association run by its members on a voluntary basis.
The main activities and benefits are:
Marketing Initiatives – including entry on the IDHA Visit-Ipswich website
Awareness of Future Events – that affect accommodation demand
Speakers - relevant and interesting
Purchasing - discounted supplies; currently being developed
Combined Voice – on matters relating to serviced accommodation
Representation – at meetings of related agencies, councils, associations, etc
Networking - interaction between members
Sharing Best Practices - member reports.
Much of this is achieved at the quarterly meetings of the Association, usually held at one of the larger hotels, when members hear a speaker on a related subject and discus various opportunities and experiences.
The Association works with other organisations related to tourism such as the East of England Tourist Board, Ipswich Borough Council, Suffolk Tourism Partnership to represent the interests of its members and accommodation businesses in the area.
Through its members, the Association is committed to the provision of quality accommodation to guests visiting the area and most of the members are accredited via the common scheme operated by VisitBritain the AA and the RAC.
If you would like to join the IDHA or would like to know more about it, please write to the Membership Secretary, IDHA c/o Ipswich Tourist Information Centre, St Stephen’s Church, St Stephen’s Lane, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1 1DP or speak to the manager of the TIC on 01473 258070.
