East Bergholt
The pretty village contains a surprising number of large elegant houses - Tudor halls, Georgian brick, Suffolk plaster with moss covered red tiles and creeper-clad porches - many built by the wool merchants that made the Stour Valley wealthy between the 13th and 17th centuries.
