Wool Towns

Wool Towns

Head west from Ipswich and you find yourself in the centre of Suffolk's 'Wool towns and villages'.

Made rich by the 15th century wool trade, so much of the area is virtually frozen in time. Lavenham is widely regarded as "England's finest medieval town", crammed with timber framed houses built between 1400 and 1500. Kersey, Cavendish and Clare are examples of the picture book pink washed villages that have made Suffolk famous.
