Heritage Coast

Dunwich Heath

There are few stretches of coastline as unspoilt as this part of the Suffolk Coast.

Owned by the National Trust, the heath is a beautiful spot for coastal walks, with 215 acres of sandy cliffs and a mile of beach.

The village of Dunwich was once an ancient town and one of England's leading ports. Now, with continuous erosion the town mostly lies under the waves and legend has it that you can still hear the old church bells chiming on a stormy night.
